Virgil D.... crazy night!!!

just woke up this morning and thought about last night...

I got my Band and Sister to come with me... we arrived at the venue 15min late, and just as I suspected! parking near the area was difficult, we parked a couple of blocks away and rushed to the entrance... I could hear Virgil doing his double Kick stuff and sounds of cymbals and hihats flying all over the place!!! AAAAARRRRGGGHHH!!! I'm shocked to find that there were so many people inside already cramped up near the stage... we tried to squeeze our way through the crowd but was asked to sit at the back, we were ushered to our seats... and man! it was so far that we could only see Virg on the Video monitors!!! well we could'nt sit down... and tried to get a glimpse of Virg on stage, i don't want to look in the Video monitors because it's just like watching a MDF Video on screen... I want to see the real thing!! so we just stood there at the back sweating, stretching our necks for a few minutes while Virg taught us some polyrhythmic exercises of eight note triplets played against a quarter note triplet, playing single paradiddle on the left hand/foot and double paradiddle on the right hand/foot and all those other things i can't quiet grasp yet! good thing our guitarist found a good spot near the action and got our stuff and proceeded... at last! I see Virg only a few feet away and got my camera ready and got some pictures... again he was doing the most amazing drum patterns, kick drum stuff and some stick twirlings... AAAAAAAAAAARRRRGGGHHH we could see the audience shook their heads in disbelief... well it went on and we enjoyed it! he finished off with a tune called "insanity"... introing with an orchestral music, well it was really insane... after the show was over Virg got to do some autograph signing... again everyone was pushing, squeezing trying to get a picture and autograph with their Favo Drummer.. I could'nt get a picture with Him (SIGH!!!) but He signed my used Vater Sticks (YEAH!!)... WOW!! great expirience seeing that guy face to face!!!


here's another crazy thing that happened after... our Band mate dropped us off at the main road where we could ride a passenger jeepney to our own place. as we were half way, the driver stopped to get passenger and a couple guys got in but were being chased by 5 guys! they too got inside and got into a fist fight! if you've seen an old Batman movie you could just hear those SPLAT, BOOG and PAK happening!!! We did'nt know that there were two Police officers in Civilian clothing with us inside the Jeepney... We got scared when they fired some shots!!! good thing those crazy guys run off... well it would be a long story to tell, not interesting enough and I'm running out of english words so I might as well stop here....
